إِذَا ٱلشَّمۡسُ كُوِّرَتۡ
﴿١﴾
When the sun is wrapped up [in darkness](1)
Tafseer:
وَإِذَا ٱلنُّجُومُ ٱنكَدَرَتۡ
﴿٢﴾
And when the stars fall, dispersing,(2)
Tafseer:
وَإِذَا ٱلۡجِبَالُ سُیِّرَتۡ
﴿٣﴾
And when the mountains are removed(3)
Tafseer:
وَإِذَا ٱلۡعِشَارُ عُطِّلَتۡ
﴿٤﴾
And when full-term she-camels are neglected(4)
Tafseer:
وَإِذَا ٱلۡوُحُوشُ حُشِرَتۡ
﴿٥﴾
And when the wild beasts are gathered(5)
Tafseer:
وَإِذَا ٱلۡبِحَارُ سُجِّرَتۡ
﴿٦﴾
And when the seas are filled with flame(6)
Tafseer:
وَإِذَا ٱلنُّفُوسُ زُوِّجَتۡ
﴿٧﴾
And when the souls are paired(7)
Tafseer:
وَإِذَا ٱلۡمَوۡءُۥدَةُ سُىِٕلَتۡ
﴿٨﴾
And when the girl [who was] buried alive is asked(8)
Tafseer:
بِأَیِّ ذَنۢبࣲ قُتِلَتۡ
﴿٩﴾
For what sin she was killed(9)
Tafseer:
وَإِذَا ٱلصُّحُفُ نُشِرَتۡ
﴿١٠﴾
And when the pages are made public(10)
Tafseer:
وَإِذَا ٱلسَّمَاۤءُ كُشِطَتۡ
﴿١١﴾
And when the sky is stripped away(11)
Tafseer:
وَإِذَا ٱلۡجَحِیمُ سُعِّرَتۡ
﴿١٢﴾
And when Hellfire is set ablaze(12)
Tafseer:
وَإِذَا ٱلۡجَنَّةُ أُزۡلِفَتۡ
﴿١٣﴾
And when Paradise is brought near,(13)
Tafseer:
عَلِمَتۡ نَفۡسࣱ مَّاۤ أَحۡضَرَتۡ
﴿١٤﴾
A soul will [then] know what it has brought [with it].(14)
Tafseer:
فَلَاۤ أُقۡسِمُ بِٱلۡخُنَّسِ
﴿١٥﴾
So I swear by the retreating stars -(15)
Tafseer:
ٱلۡجَوَارِ ٱلۡكُنَّسِ
﴿١٦﴾
Those that run [their courses] and disappear -(16)
Tafseer:
وَٱلَّیۡلِ إِذَا عَسۡعَسَ
﴿١٧﴾
And by the night as it closes in(17)
Tafseer:
وَٱلصُّبۡحِ إِذَا تَنَفَّسَ
﴿١٨﴾
And by the dawn when it breathes(18)
Tafseer:
إِنَّهُۥ لَقَوۡلُ رَسُولࣲ كَرِیمࣲ
﴿١٩﴾
[That] indeed, the Qur'an is a word [conveyed by] a noble messenger(19)
Tafseer:
ذِی قُوَّةٍ عِندَ ذِی ٱلۡعَرۡشِ مَكِینࣲ
﴿٢٠﴾
[Who is] possessed of power and with the Owner of the Throne, secure [in position],(20)
Tafseer:
مُّطَاعࣲ ثَمَّ أَمِینࣲ
﴿٢١﴾
Obeyed there [in the heavens] and trustworthy.(21)
Tafseer:
وَمَا صَاحِبُكُم بِمَجۡنُونࣲ
﴿٢٢﴾
And your companion is not [at all] mad.(22)
Tafseer:
وَلَقَدۡ رَءَاهُ بِٱلۡأُفُقِ ٱلۡمُبِینِ
﴿٢٣﴾
And he has already seen Gabriel in the clear horizon.(23)
Tafseer:
وَمَا هُوَ عَلَى ٱلۡغَیۡبِ بِضَنِینࣲ
﴿٢٤﴾
And Muhammad is not a withholder of [knowledge of] the unseen.(24)
Tafseer:
وَمَا هُوَ بِقَوۡلِ شَیۡطَـٰنࣲ رَّجِیمࣲ
﴿٢٥﴾
And the Qur'an is not the word of a devil, expelled [from the heavens].(25)
Tafseer:
فَأَیۡنَ تَذۡهَبُونَ
﴿٢٦﴾
So where are you going?(26)
Tafseer:
إِنۡ هُوَ إِلَّا ذِكۡرࣱ لِّلۡعَـٰلَمِینَ
﴿٢٧﴾
It is not except a reminder to the worlds(27)
Tafseer:
لِمَن شَاۤءَ مِنكُمۡ أَن یَسۡتَقِیمَ
﴿٢٨﴾
For whoever wills among you to take a right course.(28)
Tafseer:
وَمَا تَشَاۤءُونَ إِلَّاۤ أَن یَشَاۤءَ ٱللَّهُ رَبُّ ٱلۡعَـٰلَمِینَ
﴿٢٩﴾
And you do not will except that Allah wills - Lord of the worlds.(29)
