وَیۡلࣱ لِّلۡمُطَفِّفِینَ ﴿١﴾
Woe to those who give less [than due],(1)
Tafseer:
ٱلَّذِینَ إِذَا ٱكۡتَالُواْ عَلَى ٱلنَّاسِ یَسۡتَوۡفُونَ ﴿٢﴾
Who, when they take a measure from people, take in full.(2)
Tafseer:
وَإِذَا كَالُوهُمۡ أَو وَّزَنُوهُمۡ یُخۡسِرُونَ ﴿٣﴾
But if they give by measure or by weight to them, they cause loss.(3)
Tafseer:
أَلَا یَظُنُّ أُوْلَـٰۤىِٕكَ أَنَّهُم مَّبۡعُوثُونَ ﴿٤﴾
Do they not think that they will be resurrected(4)
Tafseer:
لِیَوۡمٍ عَظِیمࣲ ﴿٥﴾
For a tremendous Day -(5)
Tafseer:
یَوۡمَ یَقُومُ ٱلنَّاسُ لِرَبِّ ٱلۡعَـٰلَمِینَ ﴿٦﴾
The Day when mankind will stand before the Lord of the worlds?(6)
Tafseer:
كَلَّاۤ إِنَّ كِتَـٰبَ ٱلۡفُجَّارِ لَفِی سِجِّینࣲ ﴿٧﴾
No! Indeed, the record of the wicked is in sijjeen.(7)
Tafseer:
وَمَاۤ أَدۡرَىٰكَ مَا سِجِّینࣱ ﴿٨﴾
And what can make you know what is sijjeen?(8)
Tafseer:
كِتَـٰبࣱ مَّرۡقُومࣱ ﴿٩﴾
It is [their destination recorded in] a register inscribed.(9)
Tafseer:
وَیۡلࣱ یَوۡمَىِٕذࣲ لِّلۡمُكَذِّبِینَ ﴿١٠﴾
Woe, that Day, to the deniers,(10)
Tafseer:
ٱلَّذِینَ یُكَذِّبُونَ بِیَوۡمِ ٱلدِّینِ ﴿١١﴾
Who deny the Day of Recompense.(11)
Tafseer:
وَمَا یُكَذِّبُ بِهِۦۤ إِلَّا كُلُّ مُعۡتَدٍ أَثِیمٍ ﴿١٢﴾
And none deny it except every sinful transgressor.(12)
Tafseer:
إِذَا تُتۡلَىٰ عَلَیۡهِ ءَایَـٰتُنَا قَالَ أَسَـٰطِیرُ ٱلۡأَوَّلِینَ ﴿١٣﴾
When Our verses are recited to him, he says, "Legends of the former peoples."(13)
Tafseer:
كَلَّاۖ بَلۡۜ رَانَ عَلَىٰ قُلُوبِهِم مَّا كَانُواْ یَكۡسِبُونَ ﴿١٤﴾
No! Rather, the stain has covered their hearts of that which they were earning.(14)
Tafseer:
كَلَّاۤ إِنَّهُمۡ عَن رَّبِّهِمۡ یَوۡمَىِٕذࣲ لَّمَحۡجُوبُونَ ﴿١٥﴾
No! Indeed, from their Lord, that Day, they will be partitioned.(15)
Tafseer:
ثُمَّ إِنَّهُمۡ لَصَالُواْ ٱلۡجَحِیمِ ﴿١٦﴾
Then indeed, they will [enter and] burn in Hellfire.(16)
Tafseer:
ثُمَّ یُقَالُ هَـٰذَا ٱلَّذِی كُنتُم بِهِۦ تُكَذِّبُونَ ﴿١٧﴾
Then it will be said [to them], "This is what you used to deny."(17)
Tafseer:
كَلَّاۤ إِنَّ كِتَـٰبَ ٱلۡأَبۡرَارِ لَفِی عِلِّیِّینَ ﴿١٨﴾
No! Indeed, the record of the righteous is in 'illiyyun.(18)
Tafseer:
وَمَاۤ أَدۡرَىٰكَ مَا عِلِّیُّونَ ﴿١٩﴾
And what can make you know what is 'illiyyun?(19)
Tafseer:
كِتَـٰبࣱ مَّرۡقُومࣱ ﴿٢٠﴾
It is [their destination recorded in] a register inscribed(20)
Tafseer:
یَشۡهَدُهُ ٱلۡمُقَرَّبُونَ ﴿٢١﴾
Which is witnessed by those brought near [to Allah].(21)
Tafseer:
إِنَّ ٱلۡأَبۡرَارَ لَفِی نَعِیمٍ ﴿٢٢﴾
Indeed, the righteous will be in pleasure(22)
Tafseer:
عَلَى ٱلۡأَرَاۤىِٕكِ یَنظُرُونَ ﴿٢٣﴾
On adorned couches, observing.(23)
Tafseer:
تَعۡرِفُ فِی وُجُوهِهِمۡ نَضۡرَةَ ٱلنَّعِیمِ ﴿٢٤﴾
You will recognize in their faces the radiance of pleasure.(24)
Tafseer:
یُسۡقَوۡنَ مِن رَّحِیقࣲ مَّخۡتُومٍ ﴿٢٥﴾
They will be given to drink [pure] wine [which was] sealed.(25)
Tafseer:
خِتَـٰمُهُۥ مِسۡكࣱۚ وَفِی ذَ ٰ⁠لِكَ فَلۡیَتَنَافَسِ ٱلۡمُتَنَـٰفِسُونَ ﴿٢٦﴾
The last of it is musk. So for this let the competitors compete.(26)
Tafseer:
وَمِزَاجُهُۥ مِن تَسۡنِیمٍ ﴿٢٧﴾
And its mixture is of Tasneem,(27)
Tafseer:
عَیۡنࣰا یَشۡرَبُ بِهَا ٱلۡمُقَرَّبُونَ ﴿٢٨﴾
A spring from which those near [to Allah] drink.(28)
Tafseer:
إِنَّ ٱلَّذِینَ أَجۡرَمُواْ كَانُواْ مِنَ ٱلَّذِینَ ءَامَنُواْ یَضۡحَكُونَ ﴿٢٩﴾
Indeed, those who committed crimes used to laugh at those who believed.(29)
Tafseer:
وَإِذَا مَرُّواْ بِهِمۡ یَتَغَامَزُونَ ﴿٣٠﴾
And when they passed by them, they would exchange derisive glances.(30)
Tafseer:
وَإِذَا ٱنقَلَبُوۤاْ إِلَىٰۤ أَهۡلِهِمُ ٱنقَلَبُواْ فَكِهِینَ ﴿٣١﴾
And when they returned to their people, they would return jesting.(31)
Tafseer:
وَإِذَا رَأَوۡهُمۡ قَالُوۤاْ إِنَّ هَـٰۤؤُلَاۤءِ لَضَاۤلُّونَ ﴿٣٢﴾
And when they saw them, they would say, "Indeed, those are truly lost."(32)
Tafseer:
وَمَاۤ أُرۡسِلُواْ عَلَیۡهِمۡ حَـٰفِظِینَ ﴿٣٣﴾
But they had not been sent as guardians over them.(33)
Tafseer:
فَٱلۡیَوۡمَ ٱلَّذِینَ ءَامَنُواْ مِنَ ٱلۡكُفَّارِ یَضۡحَكُونَ ﴿٣٤﴾
So Today those who believed are laughing at the disbelievers,(34)
Tafseer:
عَلَى ٱلۡأَرَاۤىِٕكِ یَنظُرُونَ ﴿٣٥﴾
On adorned couches, observing.(35)
Tafseer:
هَلۡ ثُوِّبَ ٱلۡكُفَّارُ مَا كَانُواْ یَفۡعَلُونَ ﴿٣٦﴾
Have the disbelievers [not] been rewarded [this Day] for what they used to do?(36)
