Surah Al-A'la (The Most High) - Aya count 19

سَبِّحِ ٱسۡمَ رَبِّكَ ٱلۡأَعۡلَى ﴿١﴾

Exalt the name of your Lord, the Most High,


Arabic explanations of the Qur’an:

ٱلَّذِی خَلَقَ فَسَوَّىٰ ﴿٢﴾

Who created and proportioned


Arabic explanations of the Qur’an:

وَٱلَّذِی قَدَّرَ فَهَدَىٰ ﴿٣﴾

And who destined and [then] guided


Arabic explanations of the Qur’an:

وَٱلَّذِیۤ أَخۡرَجَ ٱلۡمَرۡعَىٰ ﴿٤﴾

And who brings out the pasture


Arabic explanations of the Qur’an:

فَجَعَلَهُۥ غُثَاۤءً أَحۡوَىٰ ﴿٥﴾

And [then] makes it black stubble.


Arabic explanations of the Qur’an:

سَنُقۡرِئُكَ فَلَا تَنسَىٰۤ ﴿٦﴾

We will make you recite, [O Muhammad], and you will not forget,


Arabic explanations of the Qur’an:

إِلَّا مَا شَاۤءَ ٱللَّهُۚ إِنَّهُۥ یَعۡلَمُ ٱلۡجَهۡرَ وَمَا یَخۡفَىٰ ﴿٧﴾

Except what Allah should will. Indeed, He knows what is declared and what is hidden.


Arabic explanations of the Qur’an:

وَنُیَسِّرُكَ لِلۡیُسۡرَىٰ ﴿٨﴾

And We will ease you toward ease.


Arabic explanations of the Qur’an:

فَذَكِّرۡ إِن نَّفَعَتِ ٱلذِّكۡرَىٰ ﴿٩﴾

So remind, if the reminder should benefit;


Arabic explanations of the Qur’an:

سَیَذَّكَّرُ مَن یَخۡشَىٰ ﴿١٠﴾

He who fears [Allah] will be reminded.


Arabic explanations of the Qur’an:

وَیَتَجَنَّبُهَا ٱلۡأَشۡقَى ﴿١١﴾

But the wretched one will avoid it -


Arabic explanations of the Qur’an:

ٱلَّذِی یَصۡلَى ٱلنَّارَ ٱلۡكُبۡرَىٰ ﴿١٢﴾

[He] who will [enter and] burn in the greatest Fire,


Arabic explanations of the Qur’an:

ثُمَّ لَا یَمُوتُ فِیهَا وَلَا یَحۡیَىٰ ﴿١٣﴾

Neither dying therein nor living.


Arabic explanations of the Qur’an:

قَدۡ أَفۡلَحَ مَن تَزَكَّىٰ ﴿١٤﴾

He has certainly succeeded who purifies himself


Arabic explanations of the Qur’an:

وَذَكَرَ ٱسۡمَ رَبِّهِۦ فَصَلَّىٰ ﴿١٥﴾

And mentions the name of his Lord and prays.


Arabic explanations of the Qur’an:

بَلۡ تُؤۡثِرُونَ ٱلۡحَیَوٰةَ ٱلدُّنۡیَا ﴿١٦﴾

But you prefer the worldly life,


Arabic explanations of the Qur’an:

وَٱلۡـَٔاخِرَةُ خَیۡرࣱ وَأَبۡقَىٰۤ ﴿١٧﴾

While the Hereafter is better and more enduring.

إِنَّ هَـٰذَا لَفِی ٱلصُّحُفِ ٱلۡأُولَىٰ ﴿١٨﴾

Indeed, this is in the former scriptures,

صُحُفِ إِبۡرَ ٰ⁠هِیمَ وَمُوسَىٰ ﴿١٩﴾

The scriptures of Abraham and Moses.
