ٱقۡرَأۡ بِٱسۡمِ رَبِّكَ ٱلَّذِی خَلَقَ
﴿١﴾
Recite in the name of your Lord who created -(1)
Tafseer:
خَلَقَ ٱلۡإِنسَـٰنَ مِنۡ عَلَقٍ
﴿٢﴾
Created man from a clinging substance.(2)
Tafseer:
ٱقۡرَأۡ وَرَبُّكَ ٱلۡأَكۡرَمُ
﴿٣﴾
Recite, and your Lord is the most Generous -(3)
Tafseer:
ٱلَّذِی عَلَّمَ بِٱلۡقَلَمِ
﴿٤﴾
Who taught by the pen -(4)
Tafseer:
عَلَّمَ ٱلۡإِنسَـٰنَ مَا لَمۡ یَعۡلَمۡ
﴿٥﴾
Taught man that which he knew not.(5)
Tafseer:
كَلَّاۤ إِنَّ ٱلۡإِنسَـٰنَ لَیَطۡغَىٰۤ
﴿٦﴾
No! [But] indeed, man transgresses(6)
Tafseer:
أَن رَّءَاهُ ٱسۡتَغۡنَىٰۤ
﴿٧﴾
Because he sees himself self-sufficient.(7)
Tafseer:
إِنَّ إِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ ٱلرُّجۡعَىٰۤ
﴿٨﴾
Indeed, to your Lord is the return.(8)
Tafseer:
أَرَءَیۡتَ ٱلَّذِی یَنۡهَىٰ
﴿٩﴾
Have you seen the one who forbids(9)
Tafseer:
عَبۡدًا إِذَا صَلَّىٰۤ
﴿١٠﴾
A servant when he prays?(10)
Tafseer:
أَرَءَیۡتَ إِن كَانَ عَلَى ٱلۡهُدَىٰۤ
﴿١١﴾
Have you seen if he is upon guidance(11)
Tafseer:
أَوۡ أَمَرَ بِٱلتَّقۡوَىٰۤ
﴿١٢﴾
Or enjoins righteousness?(12)
Tafseer:
أَرَءَیۡتَ إِن كَذَّبَ وَتَوَلَّىٰۤ
﴿١٣﴾
Have you seen if he denies and turns away -(13)
Tafseer:
أَلَمۡ یَعۡلَم بِأَنَّ ٱللَّهَ یَرَىٰ
﴿١٤﴾
Does he not know that Allah sees?(14)
Tafseer:
كَلَّا لَىِٕن لَّمۡ یَنتَهِ لَنَسۡفَعَۢا بِٱلنَّاصِیَةِ
﴿١٥﴾
No! If he does not desist, We will surely drag him by the forelock -(15)
Tafseer:
نَاصِیَةࣲ كَـٰذِبَةٍ خَاطِئَةࣲ
﴿١٦﴾
A lying, sinning forelock.(16)
Tafseer:
فَلۡیَدۡعُ نَادِیَهُۥ
﴿١٧﴾
Then let him call his associates;(17)
Tafseer:
سَنَدۡعُ ٱلزَّبَانِیَةَ
﴿١٨﴾
We will call the angels of Hell.(18)
Tafseer:
كَلَّا لَا تُطِعۡهُ وَٱسۡجُدۡ وَٱقۡتَرِب ۩
﴿١٩﴾
No! Do not obey him. But prostrate and draw near [to Allah].(19)
