Surah Al-Inshiqaq (The Splitting Asunder) - Aya count 25

إِذَا ٱلسَّمَاۤءُ ٱنشَقَّتۡ ﴿١﴾

When the sky is rent asunder,


Arabic explanations of the Qur’an:

وَأَذِنَتۡ لِرَبِّهَا وَحُقَّتۡ ﴿٢﴾

And hearkens to (the Command of) its Lord, and it must needs (do so);-


Arabic explanations of the Qur’an:

وَإِذَا ٱلۡأَرۡضُ مُدَّتۡ ﴿٣﴾

And when the earth is flattened out,


Arabic explanations of the Qur’an:

وَأَلۡقَتۡ مَا فِیهَا وَتَخَلَّتۡ ﴿٤﴾

And casts forth what is within it and becomes (clean) empty,


Arabic explanations of the Qur’an:

وَأَذِنَتۡ لِرَبِّهَا وَحُقَّتۡ ﴿٥﴾

And hearkens to (the Command of) its Lord,- and it must needs (do so);- (then will come Home the full reality).


Arabic explanations of the Qur’an:

یَـٰۤأَیُّهَا ٱلۡإِنسَـٰنُ إِنَّكَ كَادِحٌ إِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ كَدۡحࣰا فَمُلَـٰقِیهِ ﴿٦﴾

O thou man! Verily thou art ever toiling on towards thy Lord- painfully toiling,- but thou shalt meet Him.


Arabic explanations of the Qur’an:

فَأَمَّا مَنۡ أُوتِیَ كِتَـٰبَهُۥ بِیَمِینِهِۦ ﴿٧﴾

Then he who is given his Record in his right hand,


Arabic explanations of the Qur’an:

فَسَوۡفَ یُحَاسَبُ حِسَابࣰا یَسِیرࣰا ﴿٨﴾

Soon will his account be taken by an easy reckoning,


Arabic explanations of the Qur’an:

وَیَنقَلِبُ إِلَىٰۤ أَهۡلِهِۦ مَسۡرُورࣰا ﴿٩﴾

And he will turn to his people, rejoicing!


Arabic explanations of the Qur’an:

وَأَمَّا مَنۡ أُوتِیَ كِتَـٰبَهُۥ وَرَاۤءَ ظَهۡرِهِۦ ﴿١٠﴾

But he who is given his Record behind his back,-


Arabic explanations of the Qur’an:

فَسَوۡفَ یَدۡعُواْ ثُبُورࣰا ﴿١١﴾

Soon will he cry for perdition,


Arabic explanations of the Qur’an:

وَیَصۡلَىٰ سَعِیرًا ﴿١٢﴾

And he will enter a Blazing Fire.


Arabic explanations of the Qur’an:

إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ فِیۤ أَهۡلِهِۦ مَسۡرُورًا ﴿١٣﴾

Truly, did he go about among his people, rejoicing!


Arabic explanations of the Qur’an:

إِنَّهُۥ ظَنَّ أَن لَّن یَحُورَ ﴿١٤﴾

Truly, did he think that he would not have to return (to Us)!


Arabic explanations of the Qur’an:

بَلَىٰۤۚ إِنَّ رَبَّهُۥ كَانَ بِهِۦ بَصِیرࣰا ﴿١٥﴾

Nay, nay! for his Lord was (ever) watchful of him!


Arabic explanations of the Qur’an:

فَلَاۤ أُقۡسِمُ بِٱلشَّفَقِ ﴿١٦﴾

So I do call to witness the ruddy glow of Sunset;


Arabic explanations of the Qur’an:

وَٱلَّیۡلِ وَمَا وَسَقَ ﴿١٧﴾

The Night and its Homing;


Arabic explanations of the Qur’an:

وَٱلۡقَمَرِ إِذَا ٱتَّسَقَ ﴿١٨﴾

And the Moon in her fullness:


Arabic explanations of the Qur’an:

لَتَرۡكَبُنَّ طَبَقًا عَن طَبَقࣲ ﴿١٩﴾

Ye shall surely travel from stage to stage.


Arabic explanations of the Qur’an:

فَمَا لَهُمۡ لَا یُؤۡمِنُونَ ﴿٢٠﴾

What then is the matter with them, that they believe not?-


Arabic explanations of the Qur’an:

وَإِذَا قُرِئَ عَلَیۡهِمُ ٱلۡقُرۡءَانُ لَا یَسۡجُدُونَ ۩ ﴿٢١﴾

And when the Qur'an is read to them, they fall not prostrate,

بَلِ ٱلَّذِینَ كَفَرُواْ یُكَذِّبُونَ ﴿٢٢﴾

But on the contrary the Unbelievers reject (it).


Arabic explanations of the Qur’an:

وَٱللَّهُ أَعۡلَمُ بِمَا یُوعُونَ ﴿٢٣﴾

But Allah has full knowledge of what they secrete (in their breasts)


Arabic explanations of the Qur’an:

فَبَشِّرۡهُم بِعَذَابٍ أَلِیمٍ ﴿٢٤﴾

So announce to them a Penalty Grievous,


Arabic explanations of the Qur’an:

إِلَّا ٱلَّذِینَ ءَامَنُواْ وَعَمِلُواْ ٱلصَّـٰلِحَـٰتِ لَهُمۡ أَجۡرٌ غَیۡرُ مَمۡنُونِۭ ﴿٢٥﴾

Except to those who believe and work righteous deeds: For them is a Reward that will never fail.
