Surah Ad-Dhuha (The Forenoon) - Aya count 11

وَٱلضُّحَىٰ ﴿١﴾

By the Glorious Morning Light,


Arabic explanations of the Qur’an:

وَٱلَّیۡلِ إِذَا سَجَىٰ ﴿٢﴾

And by the Night when it is still,-


Arabic explanations of the Qur’an:

مَا وَدَّعَكَ رَبُّكَ وَمَا قَلَىٰ ﴿٣﴾

Thy Guardian-Lord hath not forsaken thee, nor is He displeased.


Arabic explanations of the Qur’an:

وَلَلۡـَٔاخِرَةُ خَیۡرࣱ لَّكَ مِنَ ٱلۡأُولَىٰ ﴿٤﴾

And verily the Hereafter will be better for thee than the present.


Arabic explanations of the Qur’an:

وَلَسَوۡفَ یُعۡطِیكَ رَبُّكَ فَتَرۡضَىٰۤ ﴿٥﴾

And soon will thy Guardian-Lord give thee (that wherewith) thou shalt be well-pleased.


Arabic explanations of the Qur’an:

أَلَمۡ یَجِدۡكَ یَتِیمࣰا فَـَٔاوَىٰ ﴿٦﴾

Did He not find thee an orphan and give thee shelter (and care)?


Arabic explanations of the Qur’an:

وَوَجَدَكَ ضَاۤلࣰّا فَهَدَىٰ ﴿٧﴾

And He found thee wandering, and He gave thee guidance.


Arabic explanations of the Qur’an:

وَوَجَدَكَ عَاۤىِٕلࣰا فَأَغۡنَىٰ ﴿٨﴾

And He found thee in need, and made thee independent.


Arabic explanations of the Qur’an:

فَأَمَّا ٱلۡیَتِیمَ فَلَا تَقۡهَرۡ ﴿٩﴾

Therefore, treat not the orphan with harshness,


Arabic explanations of the Qur’an:

وَأَمَّا ٱلسَّاۤىِٕلَ فَلَا تَنۡهَرۡ ﴿١٠﴾

Nor repulse the petitioner (unheard);


Arabic explanations of the Qur’an:

وَأَمَّا بِنِعۡمَةِ رَبِّكَ فَحَدِّثۡ ﴿١١﴾

But the bounty of the Lord - rehearse and proclaim!
