إِذَا وَقَعَتِ ٱلۡوَاقِعَةُ
﴿١﴾
When the Occurrence occurs,(1)
Tafseer:
لَیۡسَ لِوَقۡعَتِهَا كَاذِبَةٌ
﴿٢﴾
There is, at its occurrence, no denial.(2)
Tafseer:
خَافِضَةࣱ رَّافِعَةٌ
﴿٣﴾
It will bring down [some] and raise up [others].(3)
Tafseer:
إِذَا رُجَّتِ ٱلۡأَرۡضُ رَجࣰّا
﴿٤﴾
When the earth is shaken with convulsion(4)
Tafseer:
وَبُسَّتِ ٱلۡجِبَالُ بَسࣰّا
﴿٥﴾
And the mountains are broken down, crumbling(5)
Tafseer:
فَكَانَتۡ هَبَاۤءࣰ مُّنۢبَثࣰّا
﴿٦﴾
And become dust dispersing.(6)
Tafseer:
وَكُنتُمۡ أَزۡوَ ٰجࣰا ثَلَـٰثَةࣰ
﴿٧﴾
And you become [of] three kinds:(7)
Tafseer:
فَأَصۡحَـٰبُ ٱلۡمَیۡمَنَةِ مَاۤ أَصۡحَـٰبُ ٱلۡمَیۡمَنَةِ
﴿٨﴾
Then the companions of the right - what are the companions of the right?(8)
Tafseer:
وَأَصۡحَـٰبُ ٱلۡمَشۡـَٔمَةِ مَاۤ أَصۡحَـٰبُ ٱلۡمَشۡـَٔمَةِ
﴿٩﴾
And the companions of the left - what are the companions of the left?(9)
Tafseer:
وَٱلسَّـٰبِقُونَ ٱلسَّـٰبِقُونَ
﴿١٠﴾
And the forerunners, the forerunners -(10)
Tafseer:
أُوْلَـٰۤىِٕكَ ٱلۡمُقَرَّبُونَ
﴿١١﴾
Those are the ones brought near [to Allah](11)
Tafseer:
فِی جَنَّـٰتِ ٱلنَّعِیمِ
﴿١٢﴾
In the Gardens of Pleasure,(12)
Tafseer:
ثُلَّةࣱ مِّنَ ٱلۡأَوَّلِینَ
﴿١٣﴾
A [large] company of the former peoples(13)
Tafseer:
وَقَلِیلࣱ مِّنَ ٱلۡـَٔاخِرِینَ
﴿١٤﴾
And a few of the later peoples,(14)
Tafseer:
عَلَىٰ سُرُرࣲ مَّوۡضُونَةࣲ
﴿١٥﴾
On thrones woven [with ornament],(15)
Tafseer:
مُّتَّكِـِٔینَ عَلَیۡهَا مُتَقَـٰبِلِینَ
﴿١٦﴾
Reclining on them, facing each other.(16)
Tafseer:
یَطُوفُ عَلَیۡهِمۡ وِلۡدَ ٰنࣱ مُّخَلَّدُونَ
﴿١٧﴾
There will circulate among them young boys made eternal(17)
Tafseer:
بِأَكۡوَابࣲ وَأَبَارِیقَ وَكَأۡسࣲ مِّن مَّعِینࣲ
﴿١٨﴾
With vessels, pitchers and a cup [of wine] from a flowing spring -(18)
Tafseer:
لَّا یُصَدَّعُونَ عَنۡهَا وَلَا یُنزِفُونَ
﴿١٩﴾
No headache will they have therefrom, nor will they be intoxicated -(19)
Tafseer:
وَفَـٰكِهَةࣲ مِّمَّا یَتَخَیَّرُونَ
﴿٢٠﴾
And fruit of what they select(20)
Tafseer:
وَلَحۡمِ طَیۡرࣲ مِّمَّا یَشۡتَهُونَ
﴿٢١﴾
And the meat of fowl, from whatever they desire.(21)
Tafseer:
وَحُورٌ عِینࣱ
﴿٢٢﴾
And [for them are] fair women with large, [beautiful] eyes,(22)
Tafseer:
كَأَمۡثَـٰلِ ٱللُّؤۡلُوِٕ ٱلۡمَكۡنُونِ
﴿٢٣﴾
The likenesses of pearls well-protected,(23)
Tafseer:
جَزَاۤءَۢ بِمَا كَانُواْ یَعۡمَلُونَ
﴿٢٤﴾
As reward for what they used to do.(24)
Tafseer:
لَا یَسۡمَعُونَ فِیهَا لَغۡوࣰا وَلَا تَأۡثِیمًا
﴿٢٥﴾
They will not hear therein ill speech or commission of sin -(25)
Tafseer:
إِلَّا قِیلࣰا سَلَـٰمࣰا سَلَـٰمࣰا
﴿٢٦﴾
Only a saying: "Peace, peace."(26)
Tafseer:
وَأَصۡحَـٰبُ ٱلۡیَمِینِ مَاۤ أَصۡحَـٰبُ ٱلۡیَمِینِ
﴿٢٧﴾
The companions of the right - what are the companions of the right?(27)
Tafseer:
فِی سِدۡرࣲ مَّخۡضُودࣲ
﴿٢٨﴾
[They will be] among lote trees with thorns removed(28)
Tafseer:
وَطَلۡحࣲ مَّنضُودࣲ
﴿٢٩﴾
And [banana] trees layered [with fruit](29)
Tafseer:
وَظِلࣲّ مَّمۡدُودࣲ
﴿٣٠﴾
And shade extended(30)
Tafseer:
وَمَاۤءࣲ مَّسۡكُوبࣲ
﴿٣١﴾
And water poured out(31)
Tafseer:
وَفَـٰكِهَةࣲ كَثِیرَةࣲ
﴿٣٢﴾
And fruit, abundant [and varied],(32)
Tafseer:
لَّا مَقۡطُوعَةࣲ وَلَا مَمۡنُوعَةࣲ
﴿٣٣﴾
Neither limited [to season] nor forbidden,(33)
Tafseer:
وَفُرُشࣲ مَّرۡفُوعَةٍ
﴿٣٤﴾
And [upon] beds raised high.(34)
Tafseer:
إِنَّاۤ أَنشَأۡنَـٰهُنَّ إِنشَاۤءࣰ
﴿٣٥﴾
Indeed, We have produced the women of Paradise in a [new] creation(35)
Tafseer:
فَجَعَلۡنَـٰهُنَّ أَبۡكَارًا
﴿٣٦﴾
And made them virgins,(36)
Tafseer:
عُرُبًا أَتۡرَابࣰا
﴿٣٧﴾
Devoted [to their husbands] and of equal age,(37)
Tafseer:
لِّأَصۡحَـٰبِ ٱلۡیَمِینِ
﴿٣٨﴾
For the companions of the right [who are](38)
Tafseer:
ثُلَّةࣱ مِّنَ ٱلۡأَوَّلِینَ
﴿٣٩﴾
A company of the former peoples(39)
Tafseer:
وَثُلَّةࣱ مِّنَ ٱلۡـَٔاخِرِینَ
﴿٤٠﴾
And a company of the later peoples.(40)
Tafseer:
وَأَصۡحَـٰبُ ٱلشِّمَالِ مَاۤ أَصۡحَـٰبُ ٱلشِّمَالِ
﴿٤١﴾
And the companions of the left - what are the companions of the left?(41)
Tafseer:
فِی سَمُومࣲ وَحَمِیمࣲ
﴿٤٢﴾
[They will be] in scorching fire and scalding water(42)
Tafseer:
وَظِلࣲّ مِّن یَحۡمُومࣲ
﴿٤٣﴾
And a shade of black smoke,(43)
Tafseer:
لَّا بَارِدࣲ وَلَا كَرِیمٍ
﴿٤٤﴾
Neither cool nor beneficial.(44)
Tafseer:
إِنَّهُمۡ كَانُواْ قَبۡلَ ذَ ٰلِكَ مُتۡرَفِینَ
﴿٤٥﴾
Indeed they were, before that, indulging in affluence,(45)
Tafseer:
وَكَانُواْ یُصِرُّونَ عَلَى ٱلۡحِنثِ ٱلۡعَظِیمِ
﴿٤٦﴾
And they used to persist in the great violation,(46)
Tafseer:
وَكَانُواْ یَقُولُونَ أَىِٕذَا مِتۡنَا وَكُنَّا تُرَابࣰا وَعِظَـٰمًا أَءِنَّا لَمَبۡعُوثُونَ
﴿٤٧﴾
And they used to say, "When we die and become dust and bones, are we indeed to be resurrected?(47)
Tafseer:
أَوَءَابَاۤؤُنَا ٱلۡأَوَّلُونَ
﴿٤٨﴾
And our forefathers [as well]?"(48)
Tafseer:
قُلۡ إِنَّ ٱلۡأَوَّلِینَ وَٱلۡـَٔاخِرِینَ
﴿٤٩﴾
Say, [O Muhammad], "Indeed, the former and the later peoples(49)
Tafseer:
لَمَجۡمُوعُونَ إِلَىٰ مِیقَـٰتِ یَوۡمࣲ مَّعۡلُومࣲ
﴿٥٠﴾
Are to be gathered together for the appointment of a known Day."(50)
Tafseer:
ثُمَّ إِنَّكُمۡ أَیُّهَا ٱلضَّاۤلُّونَ ٱلۡمُكَذِّبُونَ
﴿٥١﴾
Then indeed you, O those astray [who are] deniers,(51)
Tafseer:
لَـَٔاكِلُونَ مِن شَجَرࣲ مِّن زَقُّومࣲ
﴿٥٢﴾
Will be eating from trees of zaqqum(52)
Tafseer:
فَمَالِـُٔونَ مِنۡهَا ٱلۡبُطُونَ
﴿٥٣﴾
And filling with it your bellies(53)
Tafseer:
فَشَـٰرِبُونَ عَلَیۡهِ مِنَ ٱلۡحَمِیمِ
﴿٥٤﴾
And drinking on top of it from scalding water(54)
Tafseer:
فَشَـٰرِبُونَ شُرۡبَ ٱلۡهِیمِ
﴿٥٥﴾
And will drink as the drinking of thirsty camels.(55)
Tafseer:
هَـٰذَا نُزُلُهُمۡ یَوۡمَ ٱلدِّینِ
﴿٥٦﴾
That is their accommodation on the Day of Recompense.(56)
Tafseer:
نَحۡنُ خَلَقۡنَـٰكُمۡ فَلَوۡلَا تُصَدِّقُونَ
﴿٥٧﴾
We have created you, so why do you not believe?(57)
Tafseer:
أَفَرَءَیۡتُم مَّا تُمۡنُونَ
﴿٥٨﴾
Have you seen that which you emit?(58)
Tafseer:
ءَأَنتُمۡ تَخۡلُقُونَهُۥۤ أَمۡ نَحۡنُ ٱلۡخَـٰلِقُونَ
﴿٥٩﴾
Is it you who creates it, or are We the Creator?(59)
Tafseer:
نَحۡنُ قَدَّرۡنَا بَیۡنَكُمُ ٱلۡمَوۡتَ وَمَا نَحۡنُ بِمَسۡبُوقِینَ
﴿٦٠﴾
We have decreed death among you, and We are not to be outdone(60)
Tafseer:
عَلَىٰۤ أَن نُّبَدِّلَ أَمۡثَـٰلَكُمۡ وَنُنشِئَكُمۡ فِی مَا لَا تَعۡلَمُونَ
﴿٦١﴾
In that We will change your likenesses and produce you in that [form] which you do not know.(61)
Tafseer:
وَلَقَدۡ عَلِمۡتُمُ ٱلنَّشۡأَةَ ٱلۡأُولَىٰ فَلَوۡلَا تَذَكَّرُونَ
﴿٦٢﴾
And you have already known the first creation, so will you not remember?(62)
Tafseer:
أَفَرَءَیۡتُم مَّا تَحۡرُثُونَ
﴿٦٣﴾
And have you seen that [seed] which you sow?(63)
Tafseer:
ءَأَنتُمۡ تَزۡرَعُونَهُۥۤ أَمۡ نَحۡنُ ٱلزَّ ٰرِعُونَ
﴿٦٤﴾
Is it you who makes it grow, or are We the grower?(64)
Tafseer:
لَوۡ نَشَاۤءُ لَجَعَلۡنَـٰهُ حُطَـٰمࣰا فَظَلۡتُمۡ تَفَكَّهُونَ
﴿٦٥﴾
If We willed, We could make it [dry] debris, and you would remain in wonder,(65)
Tafseer:
إِنَّا لَمُغۡرَمُونَ
﴿٦٦﴾
[Saying], "Indeed, we are [now] in debt;(66)
Tafseer:
بَلۡ نَحۡنُ مَحۡرُومُونَ
﴿٦٧﴾
Rather, we have been deprived."(67)
Tafseer:
أَفَرَءَیۡتُمُ ٱلۡمَاۤءَ ٱلَّذِی تَشۡرَبُونَ
﴿٦٨﴾
And have you seen the water that you drink?(68)
Tafseer:
ءَأَنتُمۡ أَنزَلۡتُمُوهُ مِنَ ٱلۡمُزۡنِ أَمۡ نَحۡنُ ٱلۡمُنزِلُونَ
﴿٦٩﴾
Is it you who brought it down from the clouds, or is it We who bring it down?(69)
Tafseer:
لَوۡ نَشَاۤءُ جَعَلۡنَـٰهُ أُجَاجࣰا فَلَوۡلَا تَشۡكُرُونَ
﴿٧٠﴾
If We willed, We could make it bitter, so why are you not grateful?(70)
Tafseer:
أَفَرَءَیۡتُمُ ٱلنَّارَ ٱلَّتِی تُورُونَ
﴿٧١﴾
And have you seen the fire that you ignite?(71)
Tafseer:
ءَأَنتُمۡ أَنشَأۡتُمۡ شَجَرَتَهَاۤ أَمۡ نَحۡنُ ٱلۡمُنشِـُٔونَ
﴿٧٢﴾
Is it you who produced its tree, or are We the producer?(72)
Tafseer:
نَحۡنُ جَعَلۡنَـٰهَا تَذۡكِرَةࣰ وَمَتَـٰعࣰا لِّلۡمُقۡوِینَ
﴿٧٣﴾
We have made it a reminder and provision for the travelers,(73)
Tafseer:
فَسَبِّحۡ بِٱسۡمِ رَبِّكَ ٱلۡعَظِیمِ
﴿٧٤﴾
So exalt the name of your Lord, the Most Great.(74)
Tafseer:
۞ فَلَاۤ أُقۡسِمُ بِمَوَ ٰقِعِ ٱلنُّجُومِ
﴿٧٥﴾
Then I swear by the setting of the stars,(75)
Tafseer:
وَإِنَّهُۥ لَقَسَمࣱ لَّوۡ تَعۡلَمُونَ عَظِیمٌ
﴿٧٦﴾
And indeed, it is an oath - if you could know - [most] great.(76)
Tafseer:
إِنَّهُۥ لَقُرۡءَانࣱ كَرِیمࣱ
﴿٧٧﴾
Indeed, it is a noble Qur'an(77)
Tafseer:
فِی كِتَـٰبࣲ مَّكۡنُونࣲ
﴿٧٨﴾
In a Register well-protected;(78)
Tafseer:
لَّا یَمَسُّهُۥۤ إِلَّا ٱلۡمُطَهَّرُونَ
﴿٧٩﴾
None touch it except the purified.(79)
Tafseer:
تَنزِیلࣱ مِّن رَّبِّ ٱلۡعَـٰلَمِینَ
﴿٨٠﴾
[It is] a revelation from the Lord of the worlds.(80)
Tafseer:
أَفَبِهَـٰذَا ٱلۡحَدِیثِ أَنتُم مُّدۡهِنُونَ
﴿٨١﴾
Then is it to this statement that you are indifferent(81)
Tafseer:
وَتَجۡعَلُونَ رِزۡقَكُمۡ أَنَّكُمۡ تُكَذِّبُونَ
﴿٨٢﴾
And make [the thanks for] your provision that you deny [the Provider]?(82)
Tafseer:
فَلَوۡلَاۤ إِذَا بَلَغَتِ ٱلۡحُلۡقُومَ
﴿٨٣﴾
Then why, when the soul at death reaches the throat(83)
Tafseer:
وَأَنتُمۡ حِینَىِٕذࣲ تَنظُرُونَ
﴿٨٤﴾
And you are at that time looking on -(84)
Tafseer:
وَنَحۡنُ أَقۡرَبُ إِلَیۡهِ مِنكُمۡ وَلَـٰكِن لَّا تُبۡصِرُونَ
﴿٨٥﴾
And Our angels are nearer to him than you, but you do not see -(85)
Tafseer:
فَلَوۡلَاۤ إِن كُنتُمۡ غَیۡرَ مَدِینِینَ
﴿٨٦﴾
Then why do you not, if you are not to be recompensed,(86)
Tafseer:
تَرۡجِعُونَهَاۤ إِن كُنتُمۡ صَـٰدِقِینَ
﴿٨٧﴾
Bring it back, if you should be truthful?(87)
Tafseer:
فَأَمَّاۤ إِن كَانَ مِنَ ٱلۡمُقَرَّبِینَ
﴿٨٨﴾
And if the deceased was of those brought near to Allah,(88)
Tafseer:
فَرَوۡحࣱ وَرَیۡحَانࣱ وَجَنَّتُ نَعِیمࣲ
﴿٨٩﴾
Then [for him is] rest and bounty and a garden of pleasure.(89)
Tafseer:
وَأَمَّاۤ إِن كَانَ مِنۡ أَصۡحَـٰبِ ٱلۡیَمِینِ
﴿٩٠﴾
And if he was of the companions of the right,(90)
Tafseer:
فَسَلَـٰمࣱ لَّكَ مِنۡ أَصۡحَـٰبِ ٱلۡیَمِینِ
﴿٩١﴾
Then [the angels will say], "Peace for you; [you are] from the companions of the right."(91)
Tafseer:
وَأَمَّاۤ إِن كَانَ مِنَ ٱلۡمُكَذِّبِینَ ٱلضَّاۤلِّینَ
﴿٩٢﴾
But if he was of the deniers [who were] astray,(92)
Tafseer:
فَنُزُلࣱ مِّنۡ حَمِیمࣲ
﴿٩٣﴾
Then [for him is] accommodation of scalding water(93)
Tafseer:
وَتَصۡلِیَةُ جَحِیمٍ
﴿٩٤﴾
And burning in Hellfire(94)
Tafseer:
إِنَّ هَـٰذَا لَهُوَ حَقُّ ٱلۡیَقِینِ
﴿٩٥﴾
Indeed, this is the true certainty,(95)
Tafseer:
فَسَبِّحۡ بِٱسۡمِ رَبِّكَ ٱلۡعَظِیمِ
﴿٩٦﴾
So exalt the name of your Lord, the Most Great.(96)
