هَلۡ أَتَىٰكَ حَدِیثُ ٱلۡغَـٰشِیَةِ
﴿١﴾
Has the story reached thee of the overwhelming (Event)?(1)
Tafseer:
وُجُوهࣱ یَوۡمَىِٕذٍ خَـٰشِعَةٌ
﴿٢﴾
Some faces, that Day, will be humiliated,(2)
Tafseer:
عَامِلَةࣱ نَّاصِبَةࣱ
﴿٣﴾
Labouring (hard), weary,-(3)
Tafseer:
تَصۡلَىٰ نَارًا حَامِیَةࣰ
﴿٤﴾
The while they enter the Blazing Fire,-(4)
Tafseer:
تُسۡقَىٰ مِنۡ عَیۡنٍ ءَانِیَةࣲ
﴿٥﴾
The while they are given, to drink, of a boiling hot spring,(5)
Tafseer:
لَّیۡسَ لَهُمۡ طَعَامٌ إِلَّا مِن ضَرِیعࣲ
﴿٦﴾
No food will there be for them but a bitter Dhari'(6)
Tafseer:
لَّا یُسۡمِنُ وَلَا یُغۡنِی مِن جُوعࣲ
﴿٧﴾
Which will neither nourish nor satisfy hunger.(7)
Tafseer:
وُجُوهࣱ یَوۡمَىِٕذࣲ نَّاعِمَةࣱ
﴿٨﴾
(Other) faces that Day will be joyful,(8)
Tafseer:
لِّسَعۡیِهَا رَاضِیَةࣱ
﴿٩﴾
Pleased with their striving,-(9)
Tafseer:
فِی جَنَّةٍ عَالِیَةࣲ
﴿١٠﴾
In a Garden on high,(10)
Tafseer:
لَّا تَسۡمَعُ فِیهَا لَـٰغِیَةࣰ
﴿١١﴾
Where they shall hear no (word) of vanity:(11)
Tafseer:
فِیهَا عَیۡنࣱ جَارِیَةࣱ
﴿١٢﴾
Therein will be a bubbling spring:(12)
Tafseer:
فِیهَا سُرُرࣱ مَّرۡفُوعَةࣱ
﴿١٣﴾
Therein will be Thrones (of dignity), raised on high,(13)
Tafseer:
وَأَكۡوَابࣱ مَّوۡضُوعَةࣱ
﴿١٤﴾
Goblets placed (ready),(14)
Tafseer:
وَنَمَارِقُ مَصۡفُوفَةࣱ
﴿١٥﴾
And cushions set in rows,(15)
Tafseer:
وَزَرَابِیُّ مَبۡثُوثَةٌ
﴿١٦﴾
And rich carpets (all) spread out.(16)
Tafseer:
أَفَلَا یَنظُرُونَ إِلَى ٱلۡإِبِلِ كَیۡفَ خُلِقَتۡ
﴿١٧﴾
Do they not look at the Camels, how they are made?-(17)
Tafseer:
وَإِلَى ٱلسَّمَاۤءِ كَیۡفَ رُفِعَتۡ
﴿١٨﴾
And at the Sky, how it is raised high?-(18)
Tafseer:
وَإِلَى ٱلۡجِبَالِ كَیۡفَ نُصِبَتۡ
﴿١٩﴾
And at the Mountains, how they are fixed firm?-(19)
Tafseer:
وَإِلَى ٱلۡأَرۡضِ كَیۡفَ سُطِحَتۡ
﴿٢٠﴾
And at the Earth, how it is spread out?(20)
Tafseer:
فَذَكِّرۡ إِنَّمَاۤ أَنتَ مُذَكِّرࣱ
﴿٢١﴾
Therefore do thou give admonition, for thou art one to admonish.(21)
Tafseer:
لَّسۡتَ عَلَیۡهِم بِمُصَیۡطِرٍ
﴿٢٢﴾
Thou art not one to manage (men's) affairs.(22)
Tafseer:
إِلَّا مَن تَوَلَّىٰ وَكَفَرَ
﴿٢٣﴾
But if any turn away and reject Allah,-(23)
Tafseer:
فَیُعَذِّبُهُ ٱللَّهُ ٱلۡعَذَابَ ٱلۡأَكۡبَرَ
﴿٢٤﴾
Allah will punish him with a mighty Punishment,(24)
Tafseer:
إِنَّ إِلَیۡنَاۤ إِیَابَهُمۡ
﴿٢٥﴾
For to Us will be their return;(25)
Tafseer:
ثُمَّ إِنَّ عَلَیۡنَا حِسَابَهُم
﴿٢٦﴾
Then it will be for Us to call them to account.(26)
